Aircraft Fires
A fire in the aircraft is more likely to occur under the engine cowling when a component fails because of age, fatigue, or improper maintenance. A red-hot turbocharger or a crack in the exhaust system or a spray from an oil line will create a beginning of engine fire. The electrical system generator(s) is another prime candidate for starting fires.
