High Voltage Installations
The Canadian Electrical Code (Section 36) considers installations operating above 750 volts to be a high voltage installation (HVI). These types of installations are not limited to but include hydro vaults, substations, transmission lines, switchgears, and transformers. HVIs contain many of the same types of risks associated with lower voltage systems, but to a greater degree. These types of installations can fail due to manufacturer defects, mechanical design, installation errors, or maintenance errors.
Our experienced electrical engineers can help you determine the cause of the incident and assess the preceding events that gave rise to the occurrence.
