Cold Cases: Investigating Claims in Extreme Cold

January 30, 2019

Watch the webinar

In northern Canada, temperatures can drop to -50°C during the winter months. The extreme cold presents Fire Investigators and Claims Adjusters with additional challenges that can seriously impact the administration of a claim. Scenes are more difficult to access, investigations take longer to complete, are more costly, and often require special equipment. These are just some of the variables that adjusters and lawyers need to be aware of when securing a scene, during the investigation and while subrogating losses in sub-zero environments.

In this webinar, we will be discussing:

  •       Challenges of performing fire and explosion investigations in extreme cold
  •       How cold temperatures impact the scene, investigator and equipment
  •       Precautionary measures that need to be taken
  •       Case studies that demonstrate the challenges of cold-weather investigation
Recommended for:
  • Insurance adjusters
  • Lawyers
