Kevin Abbott, CD, C.Tech., CFEI, CFII

Kevin is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, Fuels Specialist, and Certified Fire Investigation Instructor. He has 15 years of experience in the fuels industry and over 20 years in the skilled trades as an Industrial Electrician. As such, Kevin has in-depth knowledge of technical codes and regulations. His investigative experience includes industrial, commercial, residential and vehicle fires and explosions, incendiary fires suspected to have a fuel involvement, natural gas pipeline fires and gaseous explosions. Kevin has given evidence in Provincial Court.

John McCutcheon, C.Tech., CFEI, CFII

John is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and Hydrocarbon Fuels Specialist with over 17 years of experience. He holds Journeyperson certifications in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (313A) and Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A), along with extensive expertise in hydrocarbon fuels. John also possesses regulatory and legal expertise in addition to trade and industry knowledge, which he acquired as Fuels Safety Inspector and Fuels Safety Technical Trainer with the TSSA.

John specializes in natural gas and fuel oil, and is also licensed in liquid propane, compressed natural gas, petroleum, and hydrogen. He holds a Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) designation and a commission from the National Board for inspecting boilers and pressure vessels. John has led over 65 origin and cause investigations, many relating to a regulated fuel. He has also lent his expertise in destructive laboratory examinations and provided expert opinions on legal files.
